Wiped Out!

Hello!

So earlier today, I was singing Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood when I remembered that they had recently came out with a new album. The album is called Wiped Out! And it twas released October 30th, 2015. I thought about doing a review, but it'll come out more like I'm raving about the album because I loved every single song. I'll admit though that I was a bit hesitant to listen to this album because they're last album, which wasn't an album more like a mixtape, wasn't my favorite because their sound was different from their album I Love You. Their was a heavy rap influence and I didn't know how to feel about it. But! This new album was amazing musically and lyrically. The songs are deep and personal.  It's great, trust me. I'll list the names of the songs below and I'll have a video provided for each song so you guys can get a listen to what exactly I'm talking about. Enjoy!

1. A Moment of Silence

2. Prey

3. Crybaby

4. Wiped Out!

5. The Beach

6. Daddy Issues

7. Baby Came Home 2/ Valentines

8. Greetings From California

9. Ferrari

10. Single

11. R.I.P to My Youth

Sad Sad Sad

Hello fellow music lovers!

Despite my warm introduction, I'm feeling a bit down today. I saw something that made me quite a bit upset, but it'll pass. Since I'm feeling blue, I decided to present you guys with a song that makes me even more upset because of how slow and kind of saddish it is. No big deal. The song is called Four Walls by Broods.  Amazing amazing song guys. And while you're at it, just listen to all their songs. They're all amazing.

Somewhere Only We Know

Heelloo!!

So I was feeling a bit nostalgic, so I decided to present you guys a song that brings me a lot of nostalgia. The song is called Somewhere Only We Know by Keane. I don't know what it is about that song, but it just takes me somewhere else, somewhere happy and all that. Sappy, I know, but it's true. The song is catchy and the lyrics are great, the instrumentals are amazing and the song it just a masterpiece. The song was released back in 2004 from their album Hopes and Fears. The song was also nominated for a World Music Award for World's Best Song.

THROOWWW BAACCKK!!!

Hello guys!

Today I decided to do a musical throwback. I'm sure you know what that means, but just incase you don't, a musical throwback is taking an old song and bringing it back. This song was released back in December, 1968. The song is called Build Me Up Buttercup by The Foundations. The song was released as a single. It hit #1 on the Cash Box singles chart, #3 on US Billboard Hot 100 in early 1969, and also hit #2 in the UK.

Juno Soundtrack

Juno. The movie brings a smile to my face. The movie has, in my opinion, a great soundtrack. The movie won an Academy award and the soundtrack won a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media back in 2009. The sound track is made up of 18 songs, most of them being from Kimya Dawson and her bands Antsy Pantsy and The Moldy Peaches. It was said that Ellen Page, the lead in the movie, was asked by director Jason Reitman who she thought Juno would listen to and Kimya's bands were who she answered with. Below will be the names of the songs with their corresponding singers and a link for you to click to listen to the song.

1. All I Want Is You - Barry Louis Polisar

2. My Rollercoaster - Kimya Dawson

3. A Well Respected Man - The Kinks

4. (Uhm, Oh Yeah) Dearest - Buddy Holly

5. Up The Spout - Mateo Messina

6. Tire Swing - Kimya Dawson

7. Piazza, New York Catcher - Bella and Sebastian

8. Loose Lips - Kimya Dawson

9. Superstar - Sonic Youth

10. Sleep (instrumental) - Kimya Dawson

11. Expectations - Belle and Sebastian

12. All the Young Dudes - Mott the Hoople

13. So Nice So Smart - Kimya Dawson

14. Sea of Love - Cat Power

15. Tree Hugger - Antsy Pantsy

16. I'm Sticking With You - The Velvet Underground

17. Anyone Else But You - The Moldy Peaches

18. Vampire - Antsy Pantsy

Slower Songs

Whaddup everyone!

So it's raining today and as much as I love the rain, it's just making me feel a bit down at the moment so I thought I'd compile a list of sad, or just slower songs. Obviously,  if you're a genuinely happy preson, you don't have to listen to the songs listed below, but it's always great to broaden your spectrum, so happy listening! (Or not cause the songs are kind of gloomy or just slow)

1. Goner - Twenty One Pilots

2. Suicidal Thoughts x Heart Shaped Box - Biggie and Nirvana remix

3. Pawn Shop Blues - Lizzy Grant

4. I Hope Time Doesn't Change Him - The Drums

5. Dust In the Wind - Kansas

6. Asleep - The Smiths

7. Phantoms & Friends - Old Man Canyon

8. LSD - A$AP Rocky

9. Transatlanticism - Death Cab For Cutie

10. 400 Lux - Lorde

Those would include all the songs for now. Just know that there is more or less likely to be another one of these in the future. Hope you guys enjoy and have a lovely day. :)

Band Appreciation

Heelloo!!

So, I though I would do a post dedicated one of my top favorite bands. That band would the infamous Twenty One Pilots. I'm a huge fan of their music and the guys themselves are precious gems. They're great people with a great sense of humor and an amazing talent for music, obviously.

They're music is totally genuine and the lyrics are fantastic. They're music makes you feel something and that's a great thing. I would say their music is art. Art is anything that is can make you feel, and I believe their music is art. Obviously, that's my opinion, but if you've never heard of them, I recommend you check them out.

Some information about that band would be that the band consists of two members. The members would be Tyler Joseph, lead singer, and Josh Dun, drummer. The band was formed back in 2009 in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio. They're sound is like alternative rap, indie pop, I guess. They both write they're own songs, usually writing it in the form of poetry, which is pretty cool. They have four albums out: Twenty One Pilots (released 2009), Regional At Best (2011), Vessel (2013), and Blurryface (2015).

MADE IN THE A.M!!!!

HELLOO!!!

So, as a person who is an avid music fan, it does not come as a surprise that boy bands fall under the category of music I like. Now, speaking of boy bands..

ONE DIRECTION CAME OUT WITH THEIR NEW ALBUM AND IM HONESTLY SO HAPPY!!

Made In the A.M is their 5th studio album and their best album. The lyrics are more grown up and beautiful. They have grown up musically and as people and it makes my heart swell up. The new album is stunning and I think they've evolved their music and have definitely changed their style of music, which is extremely hard to do, especially as a boy band.

I know I can't make you listen to it, but I highly recommend you do. You will not be disappointed.

10/10 recommend lol.

The Zella Day Concert Experience

Throughout my lifetime, I have only been to two concerts. Sad, but true. My first concert would be to the infamous One Direction at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Best experience of my life. it was a very life changing experience I would have to say, but my second concert, that is a different story.

The Zella Day concert was amazing. It was like a spiritual experience honestly. Okay, let me explain the setting. It was September 26, 2015. I believe it was a Saturday. The concert was in Fresno, more specifically, The Strummers. The doors were suppose to open at seven, but we (my friends and I) waited in line till about 7:30 and waited inside the actual venue for about an hour and a half. The wait consisted of listening to old 80's music, which wasn't bad at all, and standing since there aren't any seats inside. at around nine, the opening act came out. They were called Hawai.

They were amazing. They're a local band from California. They're still new and all, do their set lasted about a good hour. Their songs were amazing, I'm just a bit upset I didn't take a good video of them. They were all super nice. Provided us with burned copies of their new EP that is yet to come out and I'm super excited for. One of my favorite songs from them would be In My Head. It's a great song, I'm sure everyone would like it. Hawai's set ended at about 9:45ish. It was another long wait, but it was extremely worth it.

When 10 o'clock rolled around, Zella finally came out. I was estatic. She's so much prettier in real life then in her photos. Her speaking voice was so calm and slow, reminding me a bit of the female version of Harry Styles, but just a bit different. I guess she talks like she had just finished smoking weed. It was still nice though.

Zella played sang her entire new album and two cover songs as an encore. I believe them to be a Johnny Cash song and a cover of Seven Nation Army from the White Stripes. Both extremely amazing. She really connects with the crowd. I got to touch her like twice. Sounds a bit weird honestly, but it's true.

Only down side about it was that when Zella would put her arms out to touch the crowd, everyone would move forward and try to touch her too. I was basically squashed in the crowd about a hundred times.

In the video above, Zella was singing was the song Jerome off her album Kicker. She sounds fan-freakin-tastic live. Also you could see how close proximity I was to her.

I can continue to go on for days about how great Zella Day is. I recommend her to basically anyone that has ears. She is a kind person full of soul and sunshine. Give her a listen!

10/10 recommend.

Song of the Day

Hello everyone!

So I decided to do a post praising single songs and I hope this becomes like an everyday thing.

So the song of the day would have to be Red Eyes by The War on Drugs. The song is amazing and I hope you give it a listen. :)
